Weapons are pretty cool, but not when it comes to killing people! One of the weapons used during the Medieval Era was arrows. Arrows are one of the scariest and most dangerous weapons because of the way they are made. They have steel tips, they go really fast and make hissing noises when they are fired. Imagine a wooden, pointy stick with a steel tip coming at you and you can barely see it. The cross bow is similar because all you have to do is wind up the arrow and you can fire way father then a regular bow and arrow.
Another common weapon during this time period was swords. Swords are made of steel and stone and people sometimes hid jewels in the hilt, the handle, of the sword. Swords are pretty scary when you're doing hand-to-hand combat. Unlike arrows, swords are longer, sharper and more power so they can do more damage. A third weapon was the mace. There were two types of maces. Some maces had wooden handles, poles and and metal balls with pointy spikes and metal chains. The metal chain was connected to the spike ball and the wooden pole.
